Our Herd Sires

35+ years of carefully selected A.I. sires from around the nation back this outstanding herd. Unique to our herd is that not only do our cattle have to check off the eye appeal box, they must also prove that they can run at high elevations and still be functional for the rugged terrain. Cows must have the numbers in their pedigree to prove that they can calve unassisted and still put pounds on the calf until weaning day.

Herd Sires

  • ACCELERATOR G283

Semen Available in spring of 2024

    $20/unit

    Reg # 3692430

Accelerator is extremely deep-bodied, bold-ribbed, and powerful hipped for an Angus bull.

He passes on his beautiful front end to all his offspring. Because he sires 65-78 lb. calves with more power than most Angus bulls, Accelerator is our go-to heifer bull. This bull also adds a ton of value on the maternal end, which is evident by an Accelerator-sired first calf heifer weaning an 840 lb. bull calf in the fall of 2023. As we flip through semen catalogs, we struggle to find bulls that have the balance between calving ease and light birth weights without giving up the power and quality.. We have found by using Accelerator, we don’t have to sacrifice “the look” we like so much in our Simmental cattle in order to achieve light birthweights and calving ease, which made our decision to finally pull the trigger on drawing semen on Accelerator this spring.

  • HANDYMAN G284

    Reg # 3621545

We fell in love with the stylish and handsome homozygous black and homozygous polled Handyman; he has all the tools in the toolbox to do the job and to get it done right with his outcross genetics. Handyman has an awesome front end with superior extension that ties into a nice, smooth shoulder, a massive middle, a strong top, an impressive hip and lower quarter, and he moves out with excellent flex in his hocks and pasterns on a big hoof. Handyman is our power bull that adds muscle and volume to his calves while still keeping the frame scores in check for mature size. Every year thus far he has sired one of our top calves. Even though we have only three daughters in production as of 2023, we will have eight more daughters calving in 2024, and we hope they have all the strong maternal qualities.

  • EXCELLENCE H428

    Semen of available $30/unit

    Reg #3785570

Yardley Excellence H428, also known as “Herbie” at the ranch, is big topped, massive hipped, and has a big hoof and excellent structural soundness. We purchased this bull in Yardley’s 2021 Bull sale for $14,000. His dam was the only red cow out of 800 head that met the qualifications to make it into the Yardley donor program, which should give you an idea how much they thought of her. Herbie is extremely long-sided and has a great disposition that is passed to his offspring. The females out of Herbie are extremely fancy-fronted, easy fleshing, and have more look than offspring of other red bulls that we have used in our A.I. program. It is really hard to find quality red genetics that keep the PAP scores low, and we have tried using a lot of different red bulls in our program. When we saw Excellence, we knew he checked every box to propel our red program, including his actual 34 PAP, which adds a ton of value to our program as well as yours as a cattleman running at higher elevation. We will have daughters in production this 2024 calving season, and we can already see that they are developing good udders with nice teat structures. We are into our first set of Excellence daughters, they have incredible udders and teat structure.

  • CLEAR DECISION E454

    Reg #3309008

Because we thought so much of our Clear Vision calves, we were very excited when we came across Clear Decision, a powerful bull with the same genetics. We saw the value in him the minute he walked into the ring and my daughter Ce’rra nudged me. We couldn’t pass up the fact that we could have more Clear Vision genetics. The year that we purchased him, 3 of the top 5 selling bulls were Clear Vision sons, which verified our assumptions in the quality that Clear Vision has produced. Clear Decision has a kind and calm disposition. For a ⅝ blood bull, his sons that we have offered have as much or more power than any purebred bull that we have used.

  • CLEAR VISION C266

    Semen Available $40/unit

    Reg #3074910

You hope to hit a home run with your bull purchases, but we hit a GRAND SLAM with Clear Vision. His attractive profile, with a touch of chrome, which he passes to his offspring, is highly sought-after by calf buyers. His females are hands down, his finest attribute; they are moderate, big ribbed, easy fleshing, with big beautiful square udders and small teat structure and are some of the best females that have walked the ranch. From day one, Clear Vision C266 has been a stand-out and a favorite. His blaze face, great neck extension, perfect hair, and curve-bending numbers along with his massive depth, width, and bone, make him a true outlier. Clear Vision is sired by the deceased Shocking Dream, who is also the sire of STCC Long Haul.

His individual numbers include a 36 PAP, an unheard of 19.8 in actual ribeye area, and a scrotal circumference of 40 cm.

  • OBCC COUNTY O 17XG

    Reg #3711448

We purchased OBCC County O 17XG out of the 2021 Bricktown National Simmental Sale for $12,500 at 100% possession and ⅔ semen interest from Owens Brother from Missouri. County O exemplifies why we are all in the beef business. Here is a bull with a massive body cavity packed with red meat from his shoulder blade through his rear quarter. He has a show ring look but is very flexible and moves out soundly. His dam is a full sister to the breed matriarch Miss Werning KP 8543U who has generated more than $8 million in actual progeny sales and is the highest valued Simmental donor in the business. He is sired by County O owned by Griswold Cattle Company. OBCC County O 17XG has been used heavily in our program and has produced a lot of good calves both male and female. His females have a lot of show ring look which is backed in this bull’s pedigree.

  • HOWDY K2

    Reg # 4168292

We purchased Howdy in 2023 and initially used him on a select group. One of the features we liked most about Howdy was his outcross pedigree. We've been using Lover Boy (Howdy’s sire) in our program for a couple of years now, and we’ve been very pleased with the vigor, style, and dimension of his sons and daughters. Lover Boy being a non-dilutor has really expanded our breeding opportunities, allowing us to use him across either on a black or red hide.

We’ve watched a lot of sales and have been really impressed with the Lover Boy females that have been offered. They’ve got the show ring eye appeal but are still functional solid boned, good feet, with great udder structure. The females are not only eye-catching but also incredibly maternal and just overall good cattle. We’ve purchased three Lover Boy daughters from sales, and we like them all.

With a Lover Boy-sired bull on the breeding grounds, we’re excited to provide some strong outcross pedigrees in our production sales. Howdy himself has an incredibly sweet disposition and is so easy to be around. Although we don’t yet have any Howdy daughters in production, the calves we've had so far are impressive. They’ve been born easily, with great vigor, and have a lot of growth.

  • WRC Mr Last call K1

    Reg #4167212

WRC Mr Last Call K1 possesses sheer volume, tons of rib shape and dimension. He is a very attractive Upgrade-sired calf that's one of the more powerful and attractive bulls that we had ever offered. We sold Last Call for 50% interest to Tai Jacober of Carbondale in the 2023 Best Of The Rockies Bull Sale. We have used him selectively in our breeding program the last two breeding seasons.

We talked for years and throughout sales about the A341 cow being the most phenotypically perfect cow that we have and how many times I have talked about putting her in an embryo transfer program.  Last Call’s dam was a moderate, stylish, heavy milking B C Lookout daughter.

Last Call himself is an extremely long-sided bull with a perfect hip and deep body that is displaying great performance and possesses the same rib capacity as his sire Upgrade.  Take note of this high growth bull with well-balanced EPD's overall. If you like bulls that are super profiling and have the growth to sire heavy calves at weaning, then this bull should be on the top of your list. THIS right here is the type we are striving to produce.

  • WRC MR Roberto K2

    Reg #4167213

WRC Mr Roberto is a very deep and long bodied, big hipped, fancy fronted herd sire. We could go on and on about all his attractive qualities, but you’d just have to see him in person. We sold Roberto for 50% in the 2023 Best Of The Rockies bull sale to long time friend Ray Zeldenthuis.

Roberto’s dam is a cow that you could take a picture of to illustrate the ideal type of cow that you would want to advertise your ranch. She has a super disposition that she passes on to her offspring and has a very useful udder in terms of overall volume structure and teat size. She is about as pretty of a cow that walks our place and could be used as an advertising scenario for what we look for in the ideal cow.

We had about 10 calves out of him in the 2024 calving season, one of the females is phenotypically in the top 5% of the replacement pen group. Wanting to make some strong maternal females, look at those Roberto sired sons in upcoming bull sales.
